FASTBOOT(8) 1990 FASTBOOT(8) NNAAMMEE fastboot, fasthalt - reboot/halt the system without checking the disks SSYYNNOOPPSSIISS ffaassttbboooott [ _b_o_o_t-_o_p_t_i_o_n_s ] ffaasstthhaalltt [ _h_a_l_t-_o_p_t_i_o_n_s ] DDEESSCCRRIIPPTTIIOONN _F_a_s_t_b_o_o_t and _f_a_s_t_h_a_l_t are shell scripts which reboot and halt the system without checking the file systems. This is done by creating a file /_f_a_s_t_b_o_o_t, then invoking the _r_e_b_o_o_t program.
