HEAD(1) BSD Reference Manual HEAD(1) NNAAMMEE hheeaadd - display first lines of a file SSYYNNOOPPSSIISS hheeaadd [--nn _c_o_u_n_t] [_f_i_l_e _._._.] DDEESSCCRRIIPPTTIIOONN This filter displays the first _c_o_u_n_t lines of each of the specified files, or of the standard input if no files are specified. If _c_o_u_n_t is omitted it defaults to 10. If more than a single file is specified, each file is preceded by a head- er consisting of the string ``==> XXX <=='' where ``XXX'' is the name of the file.
