| 57 | In Python 2.4 the <tt class="function">lgettext()</tt> family of functions were | |
| 58 | introduced. The intention of these functions is to provide an | |
| 59 | alternative which is more compliant with the current | |
| 60 | implementation of GNU gettext. Unlike <tt class="function">gettext()</tt>, which | |
| 61 | returns strings encoded with the same codeset used in the | |
| 62 | translation file, <tt class="function">lgettext()</tt> will return strings | |
