<h4>DESCRIPTION</h4>
<ul>
Writes a simulator checkpoint to the specified <i>directory</i>.
The simulator must be in stopped state before issuing the dump command.
<p>
To restore a checkpoint previously written using the dump command,
re-run sam with the "-R <i>directory</i>" command-line option.
