17Produces a helpful message similar to the following:
18.PP
19Please enter a name or a handle (``ident"), such as ``Smith"
20or ``SRI-NIC".
21Starting with a period forces a name-only search;
22starting with exclamation point forces handle-only.
23Examples:
24.nf
25 Smith [looks for name or handle SMITH ]
780f2d2b 26 !SRI-NIC [looks for handle SRI-NIC only ]

27 .Smith, John [looks for name JOHN SMITH only ]

29Adding ``..." to the argument will match anything from that point,
30e.g. ``ZU..." will match ZUL, ZUM, etc.
31.PP
32To have the ENTIRE membership list of a group or organization,
33if you are asking about a group or org, shown with the record, use
34an asterisk character `*' directly preceding the given argument.
35[CAUTION: If there are a lot of members this will take a long time!]
36You may of course use exclamation point and asterisk, or a period
37and asterisk together.
