use "/usr/spool/mail/<user>.lock" as the lock file (instead of
"/usr/spool/mail/<user>.mail") -- if this is changed, ucb/Mail/lock.c
and bin/mail.c (at a minimum) must be changed also.
The locking primitives should replace all this someday soon.
